Two forces have forever changed the practices of recruiting and retaining top talent in organizations today: The global financial crisis and the Internet (including social media). What has changed much less are the fundamental elements that people value in their work.
This program begins by comparing recruiting and retention in periods (or geographic areas) of relative economic strength with those of economic uncertainty or recession, and teaches the three immutable facts of recruiting and retention in any economy.
Attendees will learn the importance of using a combination of hi-tech and hi-touch in employee recruiting. They'll learn how to establish, develop, and nurture an irresistible employment brand, by using the Internet, traditional websites, blogs, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, and a variety of other social media applications. It's not enough to have a "Career" tab on your website these days, and attendees will learn how to take their branding to a whole new level, and see examples of successful employers who have done just that.
The course will move from recruiting strategies to retention, by teaching attendees how to get new hires hooked in to their new company even before day one, and how to maintain their enthusiasm throughout the employment relationship. A specific outline of what the instructor calls "Re-Recruiting" will be shared, as a way of getting people onboard quickly and in the most positive manner.
We'll talk about the changing trends in employee tenure, and how employers can develop realistic expectations for employee retention.
Much of the remainder of the program will deal with what individual managers can, and must do to capture the hearts and minds of their employees for the duration of their careers:
